The red oak tree on our curb fell against the house during hurricane Irene. It was removed the next day by Cambridge Landscape under the watchful eye of several city officials and a number of interested neighbors. As you can see in the first couple pictures, there were several utility wires that ran right between the branches, so it was a pretty tricky operation. It took about 5 hours, including a lunch break, plus about 1/2 hour of cleanup. Pretty impressive.
The tree was variously estimated to be 50-75 feet tall, and a couple different countings of the rings came out to 56 and 72.
